Seth Hickey
Recreation Director

B.S Kinesiology from University of New Hampshire

Has been working with youth for over 20 years

I have been the Recreation Director in Epping for six years.  I live in North Hampton, with my wife and two children. 
I enjoy spending time with my family, biking and running. My wife and I own a dog walking/ pet sitting service
(my other job).  I enjoy eating foods that are prepared in a south western style.  If I could go anywhere in the
world, I woul
d spend time in New Zealand.



Katie Stinson
AmeriCorps VISTA

B.S in Elementary Education from the University of Maine.

I started at Epping Recreation July of 2008 as AmeriCorps VISTA

I have been working with youth for 10 years.

I was born in Maine and had lived there all of my life until I moved to New Hampshire last year. I really enjoy being
outside backpacking,camping, and snowboarding. I also love experiencing new things and will try anything once!This past
summer I white water rafted down the Colorado river through the Grand Canyon. Do it if you ever
have the chance! When I am done with my AmeriCorps VISTA term I hope to explore the west a little more.

B.S in Family Studies: Child Advocacy from University of New Hampshire

1st year at Epping Recreation

I have been working with youth for over 10 years

I was born and raised in Vermont but have been in New Hampshire for the last three years.  I love snowboarding, traveling,
playing games, being crafty, scary roller coaster rides and spending time with my family and friends.  After my year
as an AmeriC
orps I plan on attending school to get my Masters in Social Work and maybe Public Health and am hoping that
it will be in Portland Oregon!
If I had my choice of a dream vacation I would want to spend time in Greece, Ireland or New Zealand.   



Ryan O'Day

I have lived in Epping since 1st grade, but was born in Melrose Mass.  I play and coach basketball
and love to listen to music.  If I could go on a dream vacation it would be to Ireland,
and my fav

I graduated from Merrimack Vally High School in 2005.
 
Before I worked at the Epping Recreation Department, I worked at Girls Inc., a not for profit organization
out of Roche
ster. Before that, I was a nanny in Concord, NH. I have been working with children for about 7 years.
 
I have done dance since I was  two and a half. I took tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hiphop. I also taught hiphop to middle
school age children be
fore I left the Concord NH area. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have recently
tried belly dancing and painting pottery. My favorite place in the whole world so far is my family camp in ME one hour from
the nearest town 20 miles in the woods on logging roads. I kayak, fly fish, bike, and hike up there. It is beautiful. I love my
dog, C
hopper. He is a dachshund chihuahua mix. Chopper loves hiking and kayaking with me.


 

 


 


Emily Gray

BS in Environmental Science from Bishop's University in Quebec.

Started at Epping Recreation in 1999, at the then very small after school program.
I've been working with kids for 10 years, including work with Girl Guides Canada
I sing soprano with the Nashua Symphony Chorus. I have 5 cats and a hamster. When I'm not at Rec, I like reading,
 singing, and cooking.

 


 


Sharon Harvey
Specials Coordinator

B.A. in Greek and Latin Literature from Harvard University 
M.L.I.S. from Simmons College, with coursework at UNH, Centro Bilingue de Cuernavaca,
Mexico, and t
he American University in Cairo.

Came to Epping Recreation as an AmeriCorps VISTA in 2005. 

Has been working with youth for eight years, as a reading tutor and home-school teacher as
well as a counselor at Epping Recreation.

I am from Epping and have lived here all my life.  I like to read, study languages, play music,
keep bees, and make things out of trees.




Kristen Pitkanen

I enjoy kayaking at Pawtuckaway, and my favorite food is Tiramisu.  I love science
and aspire to help people through genetic counceling.

John Hathaway
Elementary School Staff

Hey, I'm John Hathaway. I have worked at Epping Recreation since last January. I'm currently a senior at
Exeter High School, and hope to go to college for Marine Biology and eventually want to do something working
with kids later on. I enjoy being outdoors, and besides working with after school rec., I also have worked at the
Seacoast Science Center summer camp.




 


Matt Correia
Middle School Staff

Matt Correia was born in Danvers, MA.  He began working for Epping Recreation in October, 2009.  He has been teaching
nature-based survival skills to youth for the past fifteen years.  In his free time, he enjoys playing the guitar, backpacking
in the mountains, and watching football, baseball and hockey.  His favorite type of food is pizza, and his dream vacation
location woud probably have to be something like Alaska.
